2 Alarm Fire on Long Hill Road East
July 19, 2015

At 12:39pm what seemed like a typical automatic alarm came in for 190 long hill rd east. Chief Reilly arrived on scene to heavy smoke showing from the rear of the structure and quickly upgraded the alarm to a working fire. The home owner was unaware of the fire enveloping the second floor of her home. With Engine 93 out of service, Engine 94 was first arriving and laid in. Tower Ladder 40 setup in the driveway as Engine 92 hit a hydrant from the west side and fed water to the tower ladder. Crews from all three company’s worked together to make an aggressive push on the fire. The second alarm was hit bringing in additional mutual aid units to aid operations in the high heat and humidity. It was later determined that lightening from a early morning storm was to blame for the fire.

2 firefighters were transported to area hospitals with heat exhaustion. We hope them a speedy recovery. A special thanks to Millwood, Ossining, Thornwood, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, and all other mutual aid departments that came out to help.
